About me & the Cappuccino Experience
Personal
The Cappuccino Experience is a site designed and developed by me, Mike Coyle. I am an English visual designer, married to an Italian, and since 2005 I have been living and working in the north of Italy.
I fell in love with Italy in 1997 when I came for the first time. In 1999 I took part in the “Leonardo da Vinci Project”, a special programme organised by the European Union. For three months I lived and worked in Padua, in the Veneto region. It was here I first began my struggle with both Italian bureaucracy and the Italian language.
Famous for drinking several Cappuccinos each day (illegal in some regions of Italy) I am known by my friends as “Mr Cappuccino”.
What is the Cappuccino Experience?
I love Italy. I love Cappuccino. Thus the Cappuccino Experience was born!
The Cappuccino Experience is a new website about discovering Italy. Here I share the experiences and knowledge of “an outsider on the inside”.
This site is intended for people like me who love Italy. It will be useful for anyone coming here on holiday or for those who are thinking about living here. I hope it will become a one stop shop for all things Italian.
On this site you will find:
- News & blog - the things of interest to me at the moment
- Culture - learn more about each of Italy's 20 regions - current events, places to visit and more
- Language - learn vocabulary, verbs and grammar
- Resources - links to websites and other useful resources and downloads in one convenient place
- Community - please get involved and share your own experiences with me and others
- Handy side menus - navigate the site easily
- English friendly websites - indicated by a symbol
In the future I hope to develop the following topics: travel, tips and tricks to help you get by, how do I...?, advice about living in Italy, history, modern culture, a photo gallery and more! Watch this space...
